Burglar arrested while eating sandwich in home he broke into
This is the bizarre moment police walk in on a man eating a sandwich in the kitchen of a Nottingham flat.
The police said that the couple who lived in the flat contacted them about a trespasser, 33-year-old Costin Stan. The couple said that Stan asked them for food and denied breaking into the flat in order to steal.
They gave Stan a sandwich but noticed that jewelry had been taken from a bedroom drawer.
Police discovered the missing jewelry in Stan’s pockets during searches, and arrested him for burglary. Investigations also revealed that Stan was responsible for another break-in and robbery just 10 days earlier.
The Nottingham Crown Court ordered Stan to be jailed for a total of two years and eight months, police said.
