Malaysia-registered car carrying drugs evades arrival clearance at Tuas; 2 arrested
Two Malaysian men have been arrested in connection with an attempt to evade clearance at Tuas Checkpoint last weekend while travelling in a Malaysia-registered car, Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said on Wednesday (Feb 25).
At about 2.44pm on Feb 22, ICA officers detected a car heading towards the arrival motorcycle zone before it made an unauthorised U-turn at the entrance and drove back to Malaysia against traffic.
ICA said the vehicle then dashed through a lane at the arrival cargo zone, damaging a drop-arm barrier, before being brought to a stop. The 40-year-old driver and his 53-year-old passenger were arrested and handed over to the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) as drugs were found in the car. #singapore #malaysia #sgnews
